“THUNDER ALL AROUND... OUR RED STAR IS BACK ON TOP!”

In the 2017 generation, only one tournament was played last weekend. It was the ALL EUROPEAN FINALS, held in Bijeljina, at the Stanišići Ethno Village. In other words, there were very few changes in the standings, so there is only one new team in the rankings this week.

It is FAIR PLAYER from Kotor, who earned their first 15 AFT points at the aforementioned tournament and came very close to taking home a medal on their “debut.” This brings the number of teams in our rankings to 286, and we hope this trend continues throughout November.

Besides the team from Kotor, 3 more teams earned points in Bijeljina. The team whose position in the rankings was affected the most is MALI ŠAMPIONI from Ugljevik. They are now tied for 29th place, having climbed 44 places since last week.

That progress was made possible by their excellent performance at the ALL EUROPEAN FINALS and their place in the final. Along with silver medals, second place also earned them 35 AFT points.

SPORTISIMO (Bijeljina) made sure the bronze medals stayed in Bijeljina, and were additionally rewarded with 25 AFT points. The team has now climbed 34 places and is tied for 31st in the table.

The tournament winners, FK CRVENA ZVEZDA, brought exactly 50 points and the champions’ trophy back to Belgrade. The team has returned to first place, although they now share it with HAJDUK from Split.

An incredible statistic: this generation of “Zvezda” players has competed in 5 tournaments so far this season and won gold at all 5.

Truly impressive, and we think the battle between these two teams (and perhaps some of the other teams among the top ten) will be exciting and unpredictable right through to the end of the season.
